Δύο κορίτσια και δύο πόλεις είναι τα βασικά συστατικά του εκρηκτικού μίγματος που ακούει στο όνομα Berlin Brides και συνδυάζει στοιχεία electro, punk, garage, synth-pop και hip hop.  Η Νατάσα (στίχοι, φωνή) και η Μαριλένα (μουσική, keyboards), γεμάτες ιδέες και έμπνευση από ένα ταξίδι στο Βερολίνο, επέστρεψαν στην Αθήνα, δημιούργησαν τις Berlin Brides το 2007 και από τότε δεν έχουν πάψει να επανεφεύρουν την αθηναϊκή ανεξάρτητη σκηνή με τους καυστικούς τους στίχους και τις εύφλεκτες ζωντανές τους εμφανίσεις.

Η πρώτη τους επίσημη δισκογραφική δουλειά αποτυπώνεται σε ένα 7-ιντσο διαφανές βινύλιο με τα κομμάτια “Rejection Junkie” και “Off The Rack”, σε παραγωγή και mastering Coti.

Το απενοχοποιημένα ποπ “Off The Rack” είναι ένα ανεβαστικό, groovy κομμάτι, αποτέλεσμα της άμεσης χημείας των Berlin Brides στην πρώτη τους πρόβα και διατίθεται αποκλειστικά σ’ αυτό το 7ιντσο. Το “Rejection Junkie”, ίσως το πιο εσωστρεφές κομμάτι των Berlin Brides, με τα εμμονικά arpeggiators των synths, τα σπαρακτικά φωνητικά και τις χαοτικές κιθάρες της Katrin the Thrill, είναι μια μικρή ιστορία σύγχρονης εργένικης ζωής που, μαζί με άλλες έντεκα, συνθέτουν το σύνολο του ντεμπούτο album τους, “Modern Celibacy”, που θα κυκλοφορήσει από την Inner Ear το ερχόμενο φθινόπωρο.

Two girls and two cities are the base ingredients of the explosive mix that is “Berlin Brides”, which combines electro, punk, garage, synth-pop and hip hop elements. Natasha (lyrics, vocals) and Marilena (music, keyboards), inspired by a trip to Berlin, came back to Athens and formed the band in 2007. They have been reinventing the athenian independent music scene with their caustic lyrics and combustible live performances ever since.

Their first official record release is a 7-inch clear vinyl that includes “Rejection Junkie” and “Off The Rack”, produced and mastered by Coti.

“Off The Rack” is an uplifting, groovy, unashamedly pop number that sparked off Berlin Brides’ first rehearsal and can only be found on this 7-inch. “Rejection Junkie”, perhaps Berlin Brides’ most introvert song, with its obsessive synth arpeggiators, agonizing vocals and Katrin the Thrill’s chaotic guitars, is one of the twelve tales of contemporary bachelorhood that comprise their forthcoming debut album “Modern Celibacy”, due for release this autumn by Inner Ear Records.
